Lap Joint Flanges have the same common dimensions as any other flange on this page, but they don't have a raised face. They're utilized with a "Lap Joint Stub End." With the exception of a radius at the intersection of the flange face and the bore to allow the flanged portion of the Stub End, these flanges are almost identical to Slip On flanges.
Stub end fittings are most typically used with lap joint pipe flanges, which slide directly over the pipe. The Stub End is commonly welded to a pipe, and the Lap Joint pipe flange can rotate freely around the stub end. The advantage is that there will be no problems with bolt hole alignment. Pipe flanges with lap joints are frequently utilized in applications that need periodic dismantling.
